Every travel experience creates at least one story. Some of them are funny, others sad or frustrating. But I find that the experiences we have as wheelchair users traveling around the world are unique enough to make for some real zingers – and tear-jerkers.
This podcast series called “Storytelling” will contain three stories per episode of the different crazy things I’ve come across in my world travels. Often they focus on the amazing people I meet, or how I’ve been able to overcome barriers to accessibility in different parts of the world. In this episode, I’ll tell you how my best friend and I made lemonade out of lemons when we discovered a full-day tour in Ireland was not accessible as we had been told, how much panic ensued when I had a train cancelled and thought I’d be left on one in Norway, and about the kind heart of a tour guide in Dubai.
