REVIEW: Renaissance Hotel, Pittsburgh

ACCESSIBILITY SCORE – 5/5

My mother and I stayed in the Renaissance Pittsburgh on our way from Florida to Ohio. I was able to get a great rate, and you absolutely cannot beat the downtown location – right across from the river and baseball stadium! They had just finished renovating the wheelchair accessible rooms, and I was more than pleased with the results. Our corner room was on the 12th floor, so the view from both sides through high windows was stunning. The bathroom was roomy enough for my scooter, and the roll-in shower was very luxurious. The only downside to the room was that it was a bit challenging for me to reach all the curtain pulls for the eight (?) windows in the room; fortunately, my mom was able to help with this. The staff was very friendly, and the restaurant downstairs was easy to navigate. Some sidewalks and roads around the hotel are in bad shape. I will also say that if you arrive in an accessible van, parking is rough; you have to use the parking garage across the street, and it’s a tight fit. However, the valets were more than courteous and worked very hard to make sure my vehicle was situated and safe. Highly recommended!
